Mark Beaver reminded members at the January 22 meeting that “Career Talks” will begin in February. Mark said the presentations will give members the opportunity to share information about their business and career field with other members. They will be scheduled periodically at weekly meetings. Presenters will have about five minutes to convey their information – the same amount of time new members spend on their profile presentations.

Mark is coordinating the scheduling of the presentations and will help members prepare for them. The talks will be scheduled when other presentations (new member profile, installation, club updates) are not on the weekly meeting schedule.

Doing research for the club’s 45th anniversary celebration in September, President John Butterfield learned that the founding members made it a priority for members to learn about the businesses and professions of fellow members

During the first few months of the club the vocational service committee recommended to the board that at least one luncheon per quarter be dedicated to a discussion of the businesses of members. With board approval, the presentations, called “Classification Talks,” began.

Mark reported that a few members had already inquired about the talks. If you would like to help Mark in coordinating this effort or would like to make a presentation, contact Mark at mark.beaver@keelernadler.com.

The Vocational Service Committee members are also exploring other ways to tap the vocational talents of members and reinforce high ethical standards. Katie McCartney has been in contact with Worthington school personnel about career exploration possibilities in the future. Paul Cynkar is planning a professional and personal development workshop for members, focusing on an individual’s strengths, in the spring.
