By: Ann L PechacekOn Saturday September 14th, 14 members of the WKHS Interact Club met with Kathy Jackson from I Support the Girls--Columbus. She shared information about her organization and in record time we removed labels, sorted, and boxed 324 bras for her to share with women in need. Kathy has 5000 pairs of underwear in a storage unit along with thousands more bras that need sorting. Interact plans to continue helping out her great organization. (She also will sign off on service hours for students who may need and want to sort on their own.)
She collects new and gently used bras including maternity and mastectomy, new underwear, feminine hygiene products, those "free gift with purchase" bags to make "period packs," and other hygiene items.
The Interact Club will be sponsoring a drive to collect donations for I Support the Girls-Columbus next week. As you're home and out running errands this week, keep the above items in mind to collect for those who may benefit.
